Assessment of Critical Slope in Selangor, N. Sembilan & Melaka

Based on the 2017 study "Penghasilan Peta Bahaya dan Risiko Cerun di Kawasan Gombak-Selayang-Rawang-Batang Kali, Selangor dan Cheras Selatan-Kajang-Bangi, Selangor," 20 locations were identified as critical slopes. Geotechnica Sdn Bhd was engaged by JMG Selangor & Negeri Sembilan and GoGEO to assess and update the current hazard and risk rating for these sites.

Scope, conditions & requirements

Project Scope

Update the hazard and risk rating of 20 previously identified critical slope locations across Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

Site Conditions

Sites span 12 local authorities — 6 in Selangor (MPKJ, MPAJ, MP Selayang, MD Hulu Langat, MP Sepang, DBKL) and 6 in Negeri Sembilan (MP Seremban, MD Jelebu, MP Port Dickson, MD Tampin, MP Alor Gajah, MB Melaka).

Investigation Requirements

Reassessment was needed to align current site conditions with the Slope Information Management System (SIMS), updating ratings from the original 2017 study.

Reviewed the 2017 "Penghasilan Peta Bahaya dan Risiko Cerun" study identifying the original 20 critical slope locations.

Field Verification

Site assessment across slopes spanning the 12 participating local authorities in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

SIMS Rating Update

Current hazard and risk ratings updated in line with the Slope Information Management System.
